Internationally respected Karaoke Machine artist, composer and educator JEFF ANTONIUK has spent much of the last decade helping aspiring musicians and vocalist get “out of the basement and onto the bandstand.” As the director of Jazz Band Masterclass, inDepth Jazz Clinics and Concerts and Maryland Summer Jazz Workshop, he has inspired many musicians (and a growing number of vocalists) to develop their passion for singing and playing into a satisfying avocation or even a second career. It was only natural that Antoniuk would turn his attention to developing a jazz choir. Three years ago, Jeff teamed up with PEGGY STERN and they put the idea in motion. Peggy, as Musical Director, built the choir into a fabulous group that performed many concerts, including at venues like Blues Alley and Twins Jazz, DC’s two most famous jazz clubs. Peggy’s move to Austin, Texas left a big hole to fill.

We are proud to announce that one of DC’s finest piano players and vocal workshop leaders is our new Musical Director! WAYNE WILENTZ is one of the who’s who of DC jazz and Brazilian music, and holds a Gold Record as a member of the 80’s funk band “SKYY.” Wayne has held some of the longest gigs in DC at famous clubs like Cafe Lautrec and U-Topia, and has recorded with and produced DC legends, including the incomparable Pam Bricker. Wayne is known to many DC jazz vocalists as the “go to guy” for performance, lessons and production. We are delighted to have him directing the Captial City Voices!
